Julio Miranda

Julio Miranda is a dancer, teacher and choreographer born in Asunción, Paraguay.

Julio began his dance education at the Núcleo de Arte y Danza.  In 2001 he joined the Uninorte Ballet and later moved to the Classical and Modern Ballet of Asunción (Paraguay). As student he received numerous awards together with scholarships such as at the Mariza Estrella school (Brazil), the Municipal Theater school (Chile) and at the Theater Colón school (Argentina).

Through a scholarship awarded by the Birgit Keil Foundation, Julio received his Master degree in Classical Dance at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim (Germany). As profesional dancer in Germany, he danced with the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Augsburg Ballett before he joined the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater Schwerin. Some of the choreographers he had the opportunity to work with are: Cristian Spuck, Itzik Galili, Roberto Campanella, Paul Julius, Lars Scheibner, Birgit Scherzer, Oliver Dähler, Young Soon Hue, Sergej Gordienko, Ralf Rossa, Lode Devos, Tomasz Kajdanski, Gonzalo Galgera, Stefano Giannetti and Jutta Ebnother.

He is currently a soloist dancer at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau and since 2014 he launched himself as a choreographer.
